Go to Setup > Functions > Tenders (Select a blank tender) > Modify > Rename Tender > Select Layby Tender/Layaway Tender > Make other choices > Save.
Go to Setup > Yes/No Options. Many of the Customer options can be used.
Please see the Yes/No Options topic for help on the options you wish to use.
Go to the Tender tab and ensure the Layby Tender/Layaway Tender is selected to be used on the POS terminals you require.
Go to Setup > Global Options.
Customers Tab > Layby Statement/Layaway Statement > Edit the details you want to display on the A4 Statement > Save.
Customers Tab > Layby/Layaway > Enter a message that will print on the receipt (your Terms and Conditions) > Select the Period before Laybys/Layaways expire in Days > Select a Minimum Deposit Amount as a % of the total Layby/Layaway > Select when Laybys/Layaways are recorded as being sold and taken out of stock.
Customers must receive a copy of your T&C’s.
Go to File > Customers > Customer Types > Add > Create a Customer Type called Layby or Layaway > Save.
Go to Setup > POS Screen > Layouts > Buttons > Configure these buttons.

The Layby Functions descriptions listed below might appear differently in your Idealpos system (e.g. some regions refer to Laybys as Layaways).
Idealpos allows the description of the Laybys function to be configured to suit various regions.
You may confirm or change the Layby Function Descriptor by going to Setup > Function Descriptors > LAYBY > Modify.
The Description that is currently configured for the LAYBY Descriptor will be used as the description for the Layby Functions mentioned below.
You may also wish to change the LAYBY Function Descriptor, however, if you do choose to change it, we recommend that you completely close Idealpos and start it again to ensure that the new LAYBY Function Descriptor has been applied across the entire Idealpos application.

Use this function to make a payment on existing Laybys/existing Layaways.
Use this function to cancel a Layby/cancel a Layaway.
